Neat and tidy Switzerland

From Chur again, where they speak a remnant of latin.

Closer to home in Geneva, as a kid I used to think the two main cathedrals (St Peter's in the Old Town and the one in front of the train station) had been built just recently in mock or revival gothic style, such was their cleanliness and smoothness.

always makes me thing of Arnold Odermatt and his amazing book Im Dienst featuring square, medium format pics from his small-town, central Switzerland police force. His series on car crashes (Karambolage) is particularly striking, with such neatness not only in the framing but also in the general scenery around the crash that the latter seems staged and unreal.
